Searching?

Footprints in the sand

We like searchers. Probably because we have so many questions ourselves. Questions about work, family, our planet…how we treat each other, the list is a long one. They all boil down to the question “how should I live?”

Christians don’t have all the answers. To be a Christian means to face up to life’s questions and do something about them. Christians are searchers for truth. Not some abstract concept, which only philosophers can understand, but how we can think, love and act in a way that affirms and enhances our lives and the lives of those around us

The truth we want is practical, flesh and blood truth. So it’s not found in textbooks or universities but in a man, Jesus, who is also the son of God. So our search is a relationship with Jesus where we learn to live life as our Creator intended

City street at night

This will be a challenging journey. Jesus is both kind and controversial, accepting us just as we are but pulling the rug out from under our illusions. Elements of truth and wise words can be found in many places, but in Jesus we find reality in its pure form, untainted and eternal. Jesus said “ I am the road, also the truth, also the life”

Jesus called his first disciples 2000 years ago, but the call comes fresh to us today. If you want to answer that call, we’ll do our best to help. Church is the gathering of people who follow Jesus, where we help, teach, serve and love one another. Bristol Christian Fellowship is part of that Church.
